Smooth As Silk

Actress Carla Gugino (pictured from Sin City) has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's film version of the graphic novel Watchmen.

Gugino, according to the The Hollywood Reporter, will be playing Sally Jupiter, an exotic dancer-turned-costumed heroine and sex symbol known as the Silk Spectre. In the story, Silk is part of the Minutemen -- the group of heroes who precedes the Watchmen. She also is the mother of the new Silk Spectre. Sources offer the trade that Gugino will portray Jupiter at different ages throughout the movie.

Gugino certainly spiced up Sin City with her performance. Given that--I expect her to do the same and more--as Silk,

Filming gets underway this Fall...A March 6, 2009 release is planned.
