Actor Ryan Phillippe (pictured) will play a Viking for his next project.

The Hollywood Reporter says he is set to join Sean Bean and Abbie Cornish in "Last Battle Dreamer "

Phillippe will star as a seventh-century Viking warrior named Thorfinn who, along with his older brother, the battle-scarred Hakon (Bean), invades Britain.

Writer-director Menno Meyjes is on board to shoot the project later this year for Future Films and HandMade Films

This film sounds very 300-like to me...and clearly hopes to capitalize on its success.

Phillippe and Cornish have already worked together in Kimberly Peirce's upcoming ant-Iraq war drama Stop Loss--due in theaters on March 28th 2008...
