Variety reports that another actress has joined the cast of the Star Trek reboot...JJ Abrams has settled on Winona Ryder to play the mother of young Spock (Zachary Quinto).
Spock's mother Amanda was originally played by Jane Wyatt in the 1967 episode Journey to Babel for Star Trek: The Original Series and the feature film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
Hmm....To be honest....This is the first casting choice for the film that has me scratching my head....First Ryder seems too young to play the role. Secondly, the actress just doesn't seem to be able to project any other skill except to be able to cry and pout on cue...
