A-Team Ops

Latino Review is saying that John Singleton is in the driver's seat to helm a big screen adaptation of the 80's TV classic "The A-Team".

The original show revolved around an unofficial team of Vietnam vets wanted by the military for a crime they didn't commit who helped the innocent.

The film version will be updated to reflect contemporary issues and politics.

The tone of the film promises to be less cartoony and more serious.

Series creator Stephen J. Cannell explains the difference: "not to denigrate the TV show, but nobody ever died."

Adding: "We drove cars off cliffs and people got out and walked away. We're not going to do that (in the film). In this the tone is more dangerous -- you can really die. It's very tense and exciting."

I must admit I was never a really big fan of the show....But with a solid script, the more modern elements and the right casting--Singleton is talented enough to kick start a film version and a possible franchise.
