The first novel that explored the world of cyberpunk is finally headed to the cineplex...Hayden Christensen (pictured) is being eyed to star as Case, a talented hacker whose poisoned nervous system reduces him to hustling Japan's dystopian streets before he gets the offer of his lifetime.
JoBlo has a story that a film adaptation of William Gibson's popular 1984 novel "Neuromancer" may finally be underway as a $70 million independent production.
Joseph Kahn will helm the project. Two previous attempts to bring the book's story to the big screen had stalled.
Christensen has carved out quite a niche for himself in smaller films...rather than the big-time blockbusters--save for 2 Star Wars flicks...This role sounds as though it travels down that same path.
