Clones Keep Wars Going

Variety is reporting that the Star Wars saga is getting ready to return to the big screen...

Lucasfilm is teaming up with Warner Bros and Turner Broadcasting System for the August 15th theatrical release of "Star Wars:The Clone Wars".

The CG-enhanced animated serve as the pilot for the TV series which debuts on the Cartoon Network in the Fall. The series consists of half-hour long episodes--of which, at least thirty have already been completed.

The 100 minute-long feature picks up between Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith before Anakin Skywalker turns to the Dark Side and becomes Darth Vader.

International release dates for the feature and TV series are still being ironed out.

Since the films only showed us the start and prolonged aftermath of the "Clone Wars" there's plenty of gaps that would be perfect for the new flick and series to fill in...

Meanwhile, MTV is reporting in fact--Samuel L. Jackson May Return As Mace Windu In ‘Star Wars’ CGI Series

Jackson's (pictured) participation would certainly add star power to the proceedings....I wonder if any other cast members of the other Wars films will jump in to the space pool?
