Capers

At the special presentation this week for "Watchmen" DC Comics head honcho Paul Levitz chatted with the Latino Review crew and revealed the status of Superman: Man of Steel...

It would seem that MOS is tied to Christopher Nolan and his plans for a third Bat-flick.

Levitz:

"Everyone is waiting for Nolan to sign on for another Batman, once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow".

It also looks as if as if Brandon Routh will stay in the suit as Supes in the sequel.

"Last week Brandon Routh has come around the offices in New York and Los Angeles as of late to talk about Superman and what we want to do."

Finally, Levitz says that while both Green Lantern and the Green Arrow film known as Super Max remain in development, but Lantern is moving much faster than Supermax.

The plan is to have a Lantern film for Summer 2010, Nolan's next Bats by July 2011, and a new Superman film in 2012.

I'm glad Routh is still on active duty here...but why does Nolan control the fate of Supes on the big screen? Couldn't they announce the date whenever they want...unless of course director Bryan Singer has officially left Metropolis...
