Edge Of Night?

Brian Nelson ("30 Days of Night") will write the PG-13 supernatural thriller "Devil", the first project in M. Night Shyamalan's three-picture pact to make horror films for Media Rights Capital reports Variety.

Based on an original story by Shyamalan, plot details are under wraps though Quarantine directors John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle will helm the project.

Sam Mercer will produce alongside Shyamalan under their The Night Chronicles company which will release one new film each year over the next three years.

Shyamalan will oversee all three films' development and production. Production on "Devil" is slated to begin next year.

Uh sounds great guys--but I would bet the only reason Shyamalan got this deal is because he promised to steer clear of the big chair and the typewriter...Given his recent track record at the cineplex...
