Timothy Olyphant will lead the remake of the 1973 George A. Romero horror flick "The Crazies" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story has the inhabitants of a small Kansas town finding themselves surrounded by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply.
Olyphant is playing the town's sheriff.
Scott Kosar and Ray Wright wrote the updated screenplay, Breck Eisner is directing.
Olyphant is a solid actor but remaking Romero is tough...I hope Eisner gets some tips from Dawn of the Dead (2004) helmer Zack Snyder on how to do it right.
