The original premise from "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter centered around a gang leader who falls in love with the daughter of the detective who's trying to take down the gang.
Swift and Shannon's version will shift the story as more of an action-horror hybrid moving the setting to a seedy desert locale that's overrun by gangs and drugs.
Even with the story shift--I'm sure a romance will figure in the story somewhere...
