Rising British actress Andrea Riseborough will join Sam Riley as the female lead in the Brighton Rock remake says The Hollywood Reporter.A new adaptation of the book by author Graham Greene--the story centers on a small-time gangster (Riley) who kills a rival and finds his life turned inside out facing blackmail threats from a waitress (Riseborough) who knows about the murder.
Richard Attenborough starred in the 1947 film version of the novel.
"28 Weeks Later" writer Rowan Joffe makes his directorial debut on the update which should begin shooting later this year in the UK.
