Having successfully brought Iron Man to the big screen Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau will re-team for another comic adaptation, the long in the works Cowboys and Aliens." pic says Variety.
Favreau is circling to direct the film which has had Downey attached since last Summer.
In the comic, created by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley. in '06 cowboys and Native Americans battle in the Old West time in Arizona -- until a spaceship crashes and a new enemy equipped with superior technology emerges.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who are executive producers on the project, are scripting, along with Lost exec producer Damon Lindelof.
Orci and Kurtzman and Lindelof will work on the Cowboys script in between writing Star Trek 2...

Filming would kick off next summer.
Meanwhile-In an eyebrow raiser Iron Man 2 Converted to 3-D?--God I hope not...Just because it can be done in three-dee doesn't mean that Iron Man 2 should be done in the format Du jour.
