Relativity Media and director Steven Soderbergh are joining together for "Knockout" says Variety.

The story, which is being written by Lem Dobbs (who collaborated with Soderbergh on the great pic The Limey), is described as an "action-packed, female spy story in the vein of The Bourne Identity"

Martial arts breakout star Gina Carano is in talks to join the cast.

I can watch Carano make her moves all day long and then some--sounds like a good time at the cineplex to me...

In a rather bold move, Soderbergh will forgo his upfront salary instead taking ownership of the film with Relativity. The move helps keep the budget tight and will yield a big payoff for Soderbergh if the film is a hit.
