Tough guy Dwayne Johnson has signed on to star in the action drama Faster. says Variety.Johnson will play an ex-con who is avenging the death of his brother, after he was murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.
Joe and Tony Gayton penned the script.
When Johnson began negotiating, his Gridiron Gang pal Phil Joanou was expected to direct, but Joanou dropped out several months ago. George Tillman Jr. is negotiating to take over.
Filming kicks off January 2010.
