Variety reports that writer/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller--behind the recent Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs animated pic are poised to make their live-action film debut with an adaptation of the 1980s TV show "21 Jump Street".The show which ran from 1987-1990 followed young-looking cops working undercover in high school-starring Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise.
Jonah Hill is starring and executive producing while Michael Bacall is handling the script.
Other folks like Catherine Hardwicke and Ruben Fleischer had been approached to direct the pic.
