The Weinstein Company has decided to push back the release of Alexandre Aja's horror pic "Piranha 3-D" (pic courtesy Fangoria.com) by several months.
Originally set for release on April 16th, the film will now open sometime in August at the earliest says The LA Times.
Officially the delay was to avoid competing with "Kick-Ass".
Unofficially speculation is that the film either needs some extra work on it, or that the WC doesn't have the finances to release and market the film.
I say that it's more the latter than anything else...
'Piranha' is just the latest film on the Weinstein's slate that has no release date.
