Matt Damon is attached to star in the Robert F. Kennedy biopic says Deadline Hollywood.
Based on Newsweek guy Evan Thomas' His Life biography, the story will follow how the younger brother of John F. Kennedy went from being in the shadow of his sibling to a strong national leader in his own right before his assassination in 1968.
It's expected to include some interesting and potentially controversial looks at the extent of his involvement in such things as the Cuban Missile Crisis and two presidential campaigns.
Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) who is adapting Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol for film will also adapt this script from which Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Seabiscuit) will direct.
In 2006, Emilio Estevez wrote and directed Bobby, which followed the last day of RFK's life while the excellent Thirteen Days helmed by Roger Donaldson with Steven Culp in the role chronicling the Cuban Missile Crisis.
