Purrrfect Parts

An official press release announced today via THR that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Director Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story"

A few months ago rumors claimed that Hathaway was being considered for Lois Lane in Superman: Man of Steel

Hathaway was among a shortlist of rumored actresses testing for the two females leads in Nolan’s third and final installment in his Batman trilogy. Other contenders included Keira Knightley, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara, Charlotte Riley, and Gemma Arterton, though it is unclear if any will be considered for the second role.

She will be the third actress in the role on the big screen, following in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer in “Batman Returns” and Halle Berry in the bad “Catwoman” movie.

Hathaway in that outfit....ahhh!!

Also revealed is the casting of  Tom Hardy now set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies"

Bane appeared in Joel Schumacher's utterly awful Batman & Robin

Nolan calls action on the DKR from a screenplay he wrote with bro Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Nolan and David S. Goyer.
