The Los Angeles Times scored a set visit of the upcoming as yet Untitled Sherlock Holmes Sequel getting some fresh details about the pic along the way.
First here's the synopsis::
"Set in 1891 — a year after the last film’s events — the sequel shows Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) continuing his pursuit of Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), who, if the investigator’s instincts are correct, might be the world’s first supervillain. Watson (Jude Law), meanwhile, is still trying to be a good partner to his love, Mary Morstan (Kelly Reilly), while keeping Sherlock alive."
We also learn that Noomi Rapace’s character is named Sim
Guy Ritchie's keeping the gritty and stylized approach he adopted for the first movie, while leaving out the occult elements of the first film and using the more standard action/adventure type fare
One of the promised action set piece involves a major shoot-out at a train depot where "a battered-looking Holmes fires his meek little pistol, but then Watson, who carries what appears to be a portable Gatling gun, dishes out an awkward volley."
Really dug the first one more than I thought I would--Like the casting on this one--Hoping for another fun ride
The film hits December 6, 2011
