James Franco has reportedly directed two movies that will be shown at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, both of which co relate to Gus Van Sant’s art house classic "My Own Private Idaho" says Cinematical
While making "Milk", Van Sant showed the actor some behind-the-scenes footage of River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves working on their characters. Franco cut together two documentaries out of the unused footage.
The first is "My Own Private River", which boasts a score by Michael Stipe and is said to be a portrait of the late River Phoenix's work in the film, what many consider the most compelling performance he ever gave.
The second is the more ambitious "Endless Idaho", a twelve-hour behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film that features footage of everything from location scouting to the actors refining their performances.
The exhibition kicks off this weekend and runs through until April 9th
Meantime the first pic of Franco in the November 23rd film Rise of the Apes has popped up online....
