Rachel McAdams will reprise her role as Irene Adler in the as yet Untitled Sherlock Holmes Sequel after all says EW

As expected it's just a cameo...Still it's good news...loved her in the first film

The follow up sees Holmes, Watson (Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law) and a French gypsy (Noomi Rapace) on a cross-continent journey during which they'll encounter Sherlock's brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry) --And match wits with their arch-nemesis, the criminal genius Moriarty (Jared Harris).

Joel Silver, Susan Downey, Lionel Wigram, and Dan Lin are producing. 

Guy Ritchie helms the new adventure due in theaters everywhere on December 16th, 2011.
