Paul Giamatti and Amy Adams are both in talks to join the cast of the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages says THR
The story centers on two people who meet at the Sunset Strip club "Rock of Ages" and fall for one another against the backdrop of '80s rock anthems.
Giamatti plays a music executive responsible for rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise). Adams would play an entertainment reporter who scores an interview with Jaxx.
Director Adam Shankman has been reworking the Rock of Ages script with Justin Theroux. from show creator Chris D'Arienzo's first draft
Julianne Hough Mary J Blige Alec Baldwin and Sebastian Gregory also star
Carl Levin, Matt Weaver, Scott Prisand, actorTobey Maguire and Jennifer Gibgot will produce. Janet Billig and Hillary Weaver are executive producers.
Rock of Ages hits screens in 2012
