After four years of trying, Paramount has officially given up on adapting the classic sci-fi novel Dune into a motion picture according to Deadline.
Richard P. Rupenstein, who owns the rights to the book, states:
“Paramount’s option has expired and we couldn’t reach an agreement. I’m going to look at my options, and whether I wind up taking the script we developed in turnaround, or start over, I’m not sure yet.”
It’s seemed like a valiant enough effort to get such an acclaimed and revered novel to the silver screen after the David Lynch-helmed bomb from the 1980s.
How do we feel that Dune won’t get another shot at silver screen glory?
