After getting thoroughly panned at the Toronto International Film Festival last Fall the fate of the film "Passion Play" was left up in the air--would it even get a theatrical release?

The answer is no

Sify says the pic starring Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray and Megan Fox, will get a May 24th DVD release instead.

Fox plays an angel-like carnival sideshow star who is under the thumb of a ruthless gangster (Murray) and is saved by a trumpet player (Rourke) down on his luck.

The premise sounds just awful With duds Jennifer's Body and the even worse Jonah Hex her post Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen films Maybe Fox should have treated Michael Bay a bit better...

Bay may have called his Bot sequel "crap" in a recent interview with Empire magazine, but at least that film got a theatrical release and folks saw the film--They may not have liked what they saw but it had an audience bigger than Hex Body and Play.
