Malin Akerman ("Watchmen") is in negotiations to join the kidnapping thriller "Medallion" says

The film follows a former master thief (Nicolas Cage) who has only a few hours to find his daughter when she is kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a New York taxi cab.

Akerman will play Cage's former girlfriend and a former bank robber who agrees to help him save his daughter.

Simon West ("Con Air," "The General's Daughter") will call action.

David Guggenheim wrote the script for the film that is being produced by Matthew Joynes, Jesse Kennedy, McG and James Holt.

Shooting will kick off mid-March in New Orleans.
