John Gotti who took over the powerful Gambino crime family in the 70's, was convicted in 1992 of committing thirteen murders. The film will explore that through the eyes of his son John A. Gotti Jr.
The back and forth stuff: On Tuesday of last week, Lohan appeared at a press conference announcing the launch of the film and producers confirmed she was in talks to star in the project. At the time she was thought to be playing Victoria Gotti, daughter of mobster John Gotti (John Travolta).
Then yesterday it was announced that Lohan had dropped out.
Producer Marc Fiore said in a statement: "We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria. She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people [for the role]."
A few hours later though she was back, albeit in a different part. The actress is now set to play Kim Gotti,, the wife of Jr Gotti's son
Lohan says "I'm really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do."
Joe Pesci is set to play Angelo Ruggiero The studio wanted to nab James Franco to play the younger Gotti-no word yet if that's still the case. Leo Rossi is writing the screenplay Director Nick Cassavetes parted ways with the production a few days ago due to a scheduling conflict. Producers are seeking a new director and remain on track to go into production in the fall.
