Disney wants Mark Romanek to direct a new version of its fairy-tale "Cinderella," according to Deadline.
The timeless storyhas had countless adaptations in theatre, film and television over the past 100+ years, but Disney take remains one the most popular incarnations.
The live-action re-imagining will be written by Aline Brosh McKenna ("The Devil Wears Prada") which will reportedly see the story as "the prince is set for a politically arranged marriage, until the evil plan is threatened when the prince meets Cinderella."
No deal is yet in place, and it's not even clear if anyone has actually spoken to Romanek
