"All Is Lost" and "Margin Call" writer-director J.C. Chandor has inked a deal to write and potentially direct a movie about legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi says Deadline.
Lombardi led the team to five NFL championships and the first two Super Bowl titles.
Deals have been made with the Lombardi estate for the rights. The film will incorporate both author David Maraniss' book "When Pride Still Mattered" and that book's Broadway Play adaptation penned by Eric Simonson..
Thomas Tull and Mary Parent will produce the film.
Chandor is doing "A Most Violent Year" which will begin production early next year.
This biopic is not to be confused with another Lombardi film in development in which Robert De Niro was previously linked to star in. Eric Roth penned that script based on the book "Instant Replay"
