Helms, Hart, Others, Slip Into "Captain Underpants"

Ed Helms, Kevin Hart, Thomas Middleditch, Nick Kroll and Jordan Peele will use their vocal talents for the animated film adaptation of author Dav Pilkey's popular kids book series "Captain Underpants" says THR.

 
 Hart and Middleditch play two mischievous fourth graders whose favorite superhero, Captain Underpants, magically springs to life from a comic. Helms voices the boys' power-mad principal, Mr. Krupp, Peele plays their geeky nemesis Melvin, and Kroll is supervillain Professor Poopypants.

Nicholas Stoller wrote the adapted script from which  Rob Letterman will direct. They previously worked with Letterman on "Gulliver's Travels".

The book series began in 1997 and there now more than 50 million Pilkey books in print in the U.S. alone.
