Paul Blart: Mall Cop Gets Sequel, New Director

Andy Fickman ("Escape to Witch Mountain," "Parental Guidance") is in talks to direct Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 says THR.

Kevin James is set to return as the security guard at a New Jersey mall.

James and Nick Bakay, who co-wrote the original, are back to work in the script.

Fickman replaces Steve Carr who helmed the original 2009 comedy which became a surprise major hit with a $146 million domestic gross.

James, Todd Garner and Adam Sandler are returning as producers.

Production hopes to begin in April.
