Pratt & McBride May Sit In The KITT Car For "Knight Rider" Film

Future "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt and Danny McBride are rumored to be in talks to star in  the long discussed "Knight Rider" movie for The Weinstein Company according to Schmoes Know.

"Wild Hogs" and "Arrested Development" scribe Brad Copeland was hired back last summer to redraft  the script for the flick.

Based on the popular 1980's NBC TV series that had David Hasselhoff sitting in the driver's seat of souped up talking car named KITT--voiced by William Daniels.  The property was previously rebooted as a short-lived TV series on NBC in 2008--starring Justin Bruening as the estranged son of Hasselhoff's character and had Val Kilmer as the voice of Kitt. The new film is said to be a fresh story that won't fit within the continuity of either series.

It isn't clear what roles Pratt and McBride are playing, though playing Knight and K.I.T.T. respectively sounds right - especially if the reboot takes a more comedic action tone ala 21 Jump Street.

No director is yet attached.
