Gary Spinelli wrote the fact-based script about Barry Seal an Arkansas-based portly pilot, gun runner, and drug trafficker in the 1980s who transported contraband for the C.I.A.and the Medellín Cartel. He was ultimately shot to death in Baton Rouge by the cartel.
Doug Davison and Brian Grazer will produce.
Universal just bought the script on spec for $1 million bucks.
