Hannibal's Hugh Dancy has joined actor Rupert Everett's directorial debut biopic "The Happy Prince" says Screen Daily.
'Prince' tells the untold story of the last days in the tragic life of playwright Oscar Wilde– once a celebrity, genius, icon, and national treasure, he finds himself in the midst of a public meltdown.
Everett directs, writes and will play Wilde. Colin Firth to play Wilde's friend and confidant Reginald "Reggie" Turner. Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and Edward Fox are also tipped to join the film. .
Production begins in October of this year at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich and on location in Italy, Belgium, France and the UK.
