Described as a mix between "Drive" and "The Raid", the pic is based on the true-life story of Liverpool raised amateur boxer and drug dealer Billy Moore's incarceration in Klong Prem Central Prison, better known as the infamous 'Bangkok Hilton' located in Thailand. His two year incarceration in that brutal place changed his outlook on life.
Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire is calling action using a script by Nick Saltrese adapted from Moore's book.
Rita Dagher; Sol Papadopoulos and Roy Boulter will produce the film.
Hunnam is currently training for the Muay Thai sequences in the film which will shoot mid-2015.
Real-life former prisoners and Muay Thai champions are being sought for supporting roles.
