Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart will team up for the spy comedy "Central Intelligence" says Variety.
Hart plays a former high school sports star turned accountant who is
contacted by an old classmate he used to bully (Johnson) on Facebook and throws him head first
into the world of international espionage. That 'loser' is now a Central Intelligence Agency contract killer who ropes the accountant
into helping him stop someone who is selling classified military
secrets.
Rawson Marshall Thurber is helming the film using a script that he rewrote. Previous script drafts were worked on by Ike Barinholtz, Dave Stassen, Peter Steinfeld, Sean Anders and John Morris.
Dean Parisot was originally slated to direct the film when it was at Universal. New Line Cinema acquired the film recently.
Scott Stuber, Peter Principato and Paul Young are on board as producers.
Production hopes to begin in the spring.
