Deadline reports that Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema dated the release of the horror sequel "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist" for June 10th 2016. Originally the pic was due to open on October 23rd next year.
The title refers to an incident in a village in the U.K. in 1977 which the Warrens investigated. A single mother with four children reportedly found their home the alleged subject of a haunting with demonic voices, thrown about items and even the levitation of the young girls. Events went on for some time, and got quite a bit of press
coverage, which led to numerous investigations. It was determined that
the young girls faked at least some of the incidents.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are set to return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Writers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes will pen the script.James Wan, who directed The Conjuring has inked a first-look
producing deal with New Line which includes a commitment to direct the spooky sequel. Wan is still busy in post on Fast & Furious 7
and will shoot "Conjuring 2" next summer once he's done doing press
commitments for the pic which opens
April 3rd.
