The latest issue of Empire boasts a cover highlighting George Miller's reboot of the Mad Max franchise "Mad Max: Fury Road".
Tom Hardy will star as post-apocalyptic drifter Max Rockatansky made famous first by Mel Gibson.
The
plot sees Max get caught up with a group of people fleeing across the
Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is
an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word
Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who
survived.
Aussies Megan Gale John Howard, Angus Sampson and Gillian Jones join Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Charlize Theron Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Adelaide Clemens also star. Aussie Supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw will make her acting debut in the pic.
Miller talked with EW recently about the fist fight between Hardy and Theron in the film:
"This is not just two people standing there punching each other. This is a question of which one of them is going to survive."
Miller also talked about the moment that he realized he made the choice in casting Theron:
"Charlize was driving the war rig back to base camp, and I was sitting in the cabin behind her. I remember thinking, 'She is the Imperator, and if this was a real wasteland and we were at war, I'd be really happy she's on our side.'"
Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures have confirmed that has a U.S. release date of May 15th 2015.
