Will Ferrell Tapped For Shakespeare Laugher

Variety reports that Sony Pictures has bought a comedy pitch that is being eyed as a starring vehicle for Will Ferrell.

 Based on an original idea developed internally at Mosaic Films the currently untitled, the comedy centers around the intense, competitive world inside a Shakespearean theater company.

The screenplay will be written by David Guion and Michael Handelman.

Michael De Luca and Jonathan Kadin are producing the film.
