Hammer Hem & Haw

At that same Empire Magazine event, director Matthew Vaughn (pictured) updates on the (lack of) progress on the Thor flick...

"We're in a holding pattern at the moment. It's up to Marvel, they have to decide if they want to make the movie and then we take it from there."

Adding:

"The main role is going to be played by someone totally unknown. It can't be a star, it's got to be someone totally unknown... I think you have to respect that it is comic book and silly to be frank, so you have to combine that with a modern style and hopefully come up with something fresh. I think we can come up with something special."

Marvel seemed very much behind the film last summer But then, things got quiet, once you started talking budget..Let's face it--If the character were as popular as Spider-Man or X-Men, the film for Thor would not be in a "holding pattern" right now...
