2 X 2

Two stars have the luxury of working on multiple film projects in a row...

First up Richard Gere has committed himself to two high profile projects says Variety

He co-stars with Hilary Swank in Mira Nair's Amelia Earhart biopic which tells the story of the famed female aviator whose disappearance during flight remains a mystery. Gere will play her husband, publisher George P. Putnam

Production on that film starts this month in Toronot, Nova Scotia and South Africa.

After that, he'll join Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke for Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest. The story concerns three unconnected Brooklyn cops whose disparate careers lead them all to the same deadly location. One is working undercover to foil drug gangs; one is involved in corruption; and the other is by the book and facing retirement.

As an actor Gere is a hit and a miss--but both of these flicks sound like promising projects for him given given the talents involved...

Meantime, the Hollywood Reporter says that former "The West Wing" actress Allison Janney has signed on to join director Sam Mendes' This Must Be The Place and the Brian Robbins/Eddie Murphy comedy A Thousand Words

This Must Be The Place will have Janney playing a brash, brassy, very un-PC woman who "has a few screws loose".

A Thousand Words, meanwhile tells the story of a fast-talking guy (Murphy) who leans he only has 1,000 words left to say before he dies.

Janney plays his "savvy, money-grubbing" boss at the literary agency where he works.

Janney is great at what she does. She must like the idea of playing the boss choosing to do so for 2 flicks in a row...
