Dead On...

Jay Russell ("Ladder 49-pictured) is set to helm "Wake the Dead", an adaptation of the contemporary Frankenstein graphic novel by Steve Niles ("30 Days of Night") says Variety.

The story follows a young man named Victor who works to reverse death, even resorting to the use of spare parts from some of his friends.

James V. Hart (Bram Stoker's Dracula) is adapting the script.

Niles will serve as producer on the film giving him much greater creative control than he had with the "30 " flick.

He admits that there'll be some changes to the original work - "We're keeping a lot of the key beats, but there's going to be more character development."
