Ivory Towers

Director Steven Soderbergh is in the early stages of developing a biopic about Liberace according to Variety.

Richard LaGravenese is writing the script about the flamboyant pianist.

Soderbergh says he's already set Michael Douglas to play the title role, and is in discussions with Matt Damon to play Scott Thorson, who sued Liberace in 1982 for $113 million over palimony, claiming he was the entertainer's companion for five years. Liberace, who never wavered from career's worth of denials that he was gay seemingly settled for $95,000 in 1986.

He died a year later in 1987 of complications from AIDS at age 67.

The casting choice of Douglas seems a bit off though...He doesn't strike me as being able to play flamboyant...We'll see. As for Damon he seems ti be in a panic over a possible Sarah Palin presidency to care about his next movie role...

Relax Matt, relax....Then find out more about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. and any other candidate running in '08. I have a feeling you would be voting for Obama-no matter who McCain chose as his V.P.

Anyway-The film is a long way from the cineplex as Soderbergh will next direct the call girl drama "'Girlfriend Experience" after his trip to Toronto ends .
