Go Dark Again!

Warner Bros. is planning a nationwide theatrical re-release of "The Dark Knight" - on January 23rd 2009 reports Variety.

Having earned $530.3 million domestically and $465.9 million internationally, the film is less than $4 million away from the billion-dollar global mark. This re-issue is expected to put it over the top - joining Titanic The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Dan Fellman, president of Warner's domestic distribution:

"We wanted to provide one more opportunity for moviegoers to experience it on the bigscreen as it was meant to be seen."

The release comes six weeks after the DVD~ and Blu-ray debut of the film Tuesday.

The film is is so well done that I actually think despite its disc release that the movie will still cross the billion threshold with ease.
