Over The Hump

Magnolia Pictures nabbed the distribution rights to Lynn Shelton's indie comedy Humpday snatching up the rights for mid-six figures after a bidding war says Indiewire.

Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard play two straight best friends, recently reunited, who decide to film themselves having sex with each other for an art project to be entered into 'Hump Fest', Seattle’s annual amateur and locally produced porn festival.

The film premiered on Friday in the Sundance 2009 competition section and scored good buzz.

Magnolia will first debut the pic on Video On Demand before an August theatrical opening.

Leonard's biggest claim to fame is 99's mega indie The Blair Witch Project then going mainstream--while Duplass has stayed in the indie mode.
