Not What It Seems

A number of delays and casting glitches have allowed helmer Ridley Scott the time to completely rethink his approach to Nottingham and the classic Robin Hood legend to a more straightforward biopic.

He told MTV News:

"It is better to simply have the evolution of a character called Robin Hood, who will come out of a point in the Crusades which is the end." The character will start out as "a bowman in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion."

Will star Russell Crowe still be playing multiple roles?

"Crowe as both Robin and the Sheriff of Nottingham] was an idea so far back, way back when at the time I had this proposed to me, and I read it and thought, 'I don't really know what it does for it, but it's alright'."

The Sheriff character now will be "less important" with the villain being more the French influence of the period after William the Conqueror defeated Harold II.

Crowe himself has spent four months perfecting his archery skills.

As for the title?

"I think we are just going to call it 'Robin Hood'. We start in almost two months."
