Jennifer Garner is attached to star and possibly co- produce the upcoming comedy "Butter" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Newcimer Jason Micallef,'s script, which came third as the Best Un-produced Screenplay last year, is a political satire set in the small-town world of competitive butter-sculpting.

The tale starts as a young orphan is adopted by a Midwestern family. Soon she discovers she has an uncanny talent for butter-carving. She eventually finds herself up against the ambitious wife of the retired reigning champion in a town's annual butter-sculpting contest.

Craig Gillespie and Gary Ross are among the directors circling the project.
