Rumors about Jackie Earle Haley playing Freddy Kruger in the new "Nightmare On Elm Street" remake are now reality according to Variety.The original horror series portrayed Freddy as a child killer who was burned to death in his own shack by the parents of the murdered kids. Years later when the remaining kids in the area have grown up into teens, he comes back in their dreams and starts brutally killing them.
Kyle Gallner (The Haunting In Connecticut) also joins the cast as Quentin--the "Johnny Depp" character
Samuel Bayer is directing, from a script by Wesley Strick.
