The Wrath Of Kong

King Kong is heading back to the big screen in a new fantasy adventure story says Variety

Spirit Films has picked up the rights to the book Kong: King Of Skull Island, which was published by Dark Horse Comics in December 2004, a year before the long but solid Peter Jackson's King Kong remake take hit the cineplex.

Authorised by the estate of Kong creator Merian C. Cooper, the book is both a sequel and a prequel to the original story.

Created by acclaimed fantasy writer Brad Strickland and artist Joe DeVito, the novel explains what happened following Kong's fatal plunge from the Empire State Building, both the ape's body and showman Carl Denham (who brought the giant ape to America) had vanished before any investigation could be launched.

Never read the book on which the film's gonna be based but the premise has me intrigued to see where this one goes....
