Sam Mendes may call action on a feature film adaptation of Joseph O'Neill's award-winning novel "Netherland" says Variety.Set in New York City, the story follows a lonely Dutch expatriate becomes drawn to the sport of Cricket forming an unlikely bond to the immigrant culture.
Christopher Hampton (Atonement) will adapt the script with Mendes, Oprah Winfrey, Pippa Harris and Kate Forte all producing the pic together.
