Rotterdam Redux

The Hollywood Reporter says that Mark Wahlberg will star in a n American remake of "Reykjavik-Rotterdam."-- Óskar Jónasson's 2008 Icelandic thriller of the same name.



Winner of five Edda Awards (Iceland’s equivalent of an Oscar),--The story follows a security guard and ex alcohol smuggler who considers returning to the illegal business after he runs into financial trouble.

Aaron Guzikowski ("Prisoners") will write the script.

Baltasar Kormákur, who starred in the original "Reykjavik," is in talks to direct the remake. The original film is also Iceland's entry for 2010's Oscar foreign film race.

No production schedule has been set for the film.
